livefastanddiey0ungx asked: how is that tattoo i want racist?
oh jesus this shit again. look, you do not know how many FUCKING times i have tried to educate shitheads like you and how tired i am of it. i am tired to the fucking BONE with ignorant…
This is one of the most retarded things I’ve ever read. The whole idea of “This is important to us and because people (not you, but people of your race) treated us badly then that means YOU have to take the fall for it” thing is stupid and seriously needs to stop.
It is not racist to get a headdress tattoo. YOU saying it’s racist does not make it racist. YOU can treat a headdress like how it was meant to be treated, know the history, etc. That doesn’t mean everyone else has to, and that doesn’t mean they’re wrong for it. It isn’t racist. It’s just an aesthetic to people who aren’t native and that’s perfectly fine, and normal. People see things they think are beautiful and they have the choice to either learn the history and still are allowed to “honor” that how they want, whether it’s with a tattoo or not. Or they can just find said thing beautiful and do what they will with it.
Just because people who were NOT from this generation did shitty things to children, and natives of all age, does not mean WE have to act as though we did it and have the “decency” to not be interested or find beauty in it just because of something shitty that happened, that we didn’t do. That doesn’t make whoever this white chick is racist for wanting a headdress tattoo. Stop acting like an idiot.
:( That was quick. How about I says to yous that I’m planning a Band Logo tattoo from your favorite band, but I’ve never heard a single song, or know who’s in the band at all. Let’s say a Zob Rombie tattoo. Because I want to honor him. Lol. Also. No ableist slurs, and no racism here pls.
Even when you compare the same situation to things of lesser importance, it still stands the same. I love Rob Zombie, but a lot of his pictures or cover art etc is just that, it can be taken as art. There isn’t any reason why someone HAS to listen to him in order to like his appearance so much that they want it on their body.
A headdress is sacred, it’s a part of native culture, it is extremely important I get that. But it’s also beautiful and there for can also be considered art to someone who isn’t native. There isn’t any reason why someone should look at a tattoo with a headdress and go “Hey. That person thinks a headdress is beautiful but they aren’t native… RACIST” that’s stupid. What may be sacred to someone else, isn’t to others. It could just be beautiful enough to consider art. There isn’t anything wrong with that. That isn’t taking anything away from that culture. They’re still perfectly able to treat it how it was originally meant to be treated.
I guess non asian or polynesian people that get kanji or tribal tatts are racists too. c’mon yo.
